Fixly is a handyman marketplace that helps connect users to verified and professional handymen, from plumbers to electricians, carpenters, and other skilled professionals. As the UI Designer, my goal was to build a two-sided platform, that will be easy to use for users looking to find, book, and review professionals while also streamlining bookings management, track earnings, and skills showcase for handymen.

Challenge
Despite the increasing adoption of digital services in Nigeria, finding a reliable handyman remains traditional and sometimes, a chaotic experience. Many people suffer unclear and inconsistent pricing when hiring handymen. And after paying required amount, the issues still recurs, making them suffer additionaly, poor service quality. On the flip side, handymen also face difficulties getting visibility, managing bookings/businesses, and receiving timely payments.
Objective
The primary objective was to create a webapp that clearly communicated Fixly’s value, improved user engagement, increased conversions, responsiveness for large screens and mobile.
Results
By addressing the problem from both user and handyman perspectives, Fixly solves the challenge of finding reliable handymen in Nigeria by providing a secure, all-in-one platform with verified professionals, easy booking, transparent pricing, and real-time tracking. It also features an escrow system that safely holds customer payments until work completion is confirmed, ensuring accountability, preventing fraud, and building trust between customers and professionals.
